The best time to visit the Agafay
March to May and September to November are the best months in the Agafay: warm days, cool evenings and comfortable sunsets. In July and August, book the last slot of the day or the pool day, never midday. December to February is pleasant by day but genuinely cold after dark, so bring a real jacket.

Which slot to book
The sunset slot is the reason most people come, and it is the right answer in every season. In summer it is the only comfortable option. In winter it is spectacular but short, so leave early enough to be on site before the light goes.
Morning slots are underrated in spring and autumn: the plateau is empty, the air is clear, and the Atlas is sharp on the horizon before the afternoon haze.

Is the Agafay too hot in summer?
At midday, yes — 40 °C and no shade is not a good afternoon. Evening slots from 17:00 are fine, and the camps with a pool are built for exactly this.
Is the Agafay cold at night?
In winter it can approach freezing on a clear night, and even in spring it drops sharply after sunset. Every season needs one warm layer more than you would guess from the daytime.
Does it rain in the Agafay?
Rarely, but when it does the tracks turn to mud and access can be cut for a few hours. It is the one weather event that causes cancellations.
